Paloma Coulomb

My name is Paloma, I am 19 years old and I live now in Switzerland for my studies at Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne. I was born in Paris, I’m half French (father) and half Brazilian. I speak french, Portuguese, Spanish (lived 6 years in Chile) and English. My dates of internship in Shanghai are from 08/08/2013 to 01/27/2013. I love to travel all around the world, I also love to take pictures, is one of my biggest hobbies. I do snowboard during the winter and I also enjoy yoga. I like every kind of music (French music, Brazilian music, deep house, electronic music…)

So, why not become a Rocket Scientist or an Accountant?

I would love to become Rocket Scientist but I’m not really good at Maths.

Why did you choose CS as the place where you wanted to do your internship?

Because of its amazing reputation here at EHL and soon all around the world.

Why didn’t you go to a 5* hotel?

I wanted to know how a small company works. I know that Café des Stagiaires is growing up everyday and new coffees will open soon for sure. I know that Café des Stagiaires has the potential to be comparable to a 5* hotel.

Where would you like to be in ten years time?

I would like to become a top manager and maybe open my own hotel in Brazil.

If you could eat and drink only one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

It would definitely be orange juice and compotes. It is my favorite breakfast.

What is the one thing you could never give up and why?

Chocolate !!!!

What scares you most in life?

Lose the people I love.

Where is your favorite place on earth & why?

Obviously Brazil, the most beautiful country in the world. People are awesome, you have nothing like Brazilian’s spirit. Landscapes are the most beautiful in the world. I really love Brazil.

Do you think you can bring something new to the CS concept?

All my positive energy, my dedication and maybe helping with new ideas and new concepts.

What is your favorite quotation?

“ It’s life, not paradise “ !

What do you expect to learn during your internship?

Get experience, face another culture and learn how to deal with new situations.

If the world was ending tomorrow what would be the last thing you would do and why?

I would gather all the people I love and wait with them for the end of the world, altogether.

How do you imagine China, Shanghai?

Very different from here but I’m so excited to learn about this new culture!
